It is not often I get all excited about a character editor - I mean it would have to be a pretty damn interesting character editor to make me notice.  But in the case of the new Dragon Ball Z's Hero Mode I am gonna throw all that out the window.  Why? 'Cause I dig me some DBZ.

Personal bias aside though, the Hero Mode does offer more than your everyday make a character and play the same thing over and over formula (you listening Koei?). Sure you get the standard boasted 1 million combinations - but unless you can draw your own decals with layering then it is still just a picker editor.  Nope.  None for me thanks.  The real meat is in when you take your character into story mode and then online to face off. So all you creative gamers who love to fight - you got that?  Custom characters developed in story mode and then to be used in online matches. Now this next bit is for those that are familiar with the Dragon Ball Z series.

There are some limits - of course.  COuldn't be a creative title without limits right? I mean why give players the world?  Sorry I digress.  The limit is that you can only make a Saiayn, it just fits better into the story mode. You can choose attack styles and super attacks right off the bat and with the game's XP system you can continue to grow and groom you mock-Goku.
